So we’re expecting another ice storm starting sometime tonight. After work, I decide i should hit the grocery store and stock up, figuring it won’t be too bad at 12AM. Boy was I wrong. Looks like everyone had the same idea as me.
Now if you know me, you know I loathe going to the grocery store and having to deal with the hordes of the great unwashed. Tonight was no exception.
I get my provisions and head to the checkout lanes. They have only two cashiers on and the lines were looooong. I wasn’t really too irked because I know things are like this before a storm. However, not everyone took things in stride like me.
Behind me was the fat little troll of a woman with an annoying voice. She was huffing and puffing and must have loudly whined “This is ridiculous” about 50 times in 30 minutes. I finally reached my breaking point and turned around and said, “Will you PLEASE shut the fuck up! The lines are long because a storm is coming. Deal with it and SHUT THE FUCK UP!”
As I turned back around, the cashier was trying her best not to laugh and people in both lines applauded.
God how I wish there was home grocery delivery…
